The Nominating Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 to review and endorse applications for the positions indicated as follows:

- 6 Candidates for positions on the Judiciary Committee

- 5 Candidates for positions on the Board of Directors

- Candidates for Elected Officer Positions (Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President)

Interested individuals must complete the required questionnaires which may be obtained by clicking on the links below or by calling Megan Ware at 610-279-9660, Ext. 200.

Now Accepting Applications for the 2021 MBA Leadership Academy & Info Sessions on October 15th
Lawyer Referral Service

The Montgomery Bar Association (MBA) Leadership Academy was established in 2015 to provide select members with cutting-edge leadership training, unique networking opportunities, and a pathway to future leadership roles both within the MBA and beyond. In fact, 75% percent of our Leadership Academy alumni have gone on to hold leadership positions in the MBA and virtually all of the participants have served in positions of leadership within their work organizations and their communities.

We are pleased to open the application process for the 2021 MBA Leadership Academy. Applications can be found here and should be submitted to Nancy Walsh (nancy@tbdnowllc.com) no later than Friday, October 30, 2020.

If you would like to learn more about the Academy, please join us for one of two virtual information sessions on Thursday, October 15, 2020, which will include a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A discussion with Nancy and several Academy alumni. Addiction and Connection to Treatment
Moderated by Tonya Lupinacci, Esq.

This CLE will provide lawyers will an understanding of substance use disorder as well as the stigma and implicit bias that surrounds those who addictions. Those receiving this training will become skilled in connecting people to drug and alcohol treatment resources in their local areas. This is peer training by first responders and related professionals who have regular contact with persons suffering from substance use disorder. Moreover, many lawyers connect with people every day who are suffering from substance use disorder or are family members of those who are suffering from addiction. This training will provide information, knowledge and resources on how to assist lawyers in connecting their clients to treatment resources in their local areas.

The PBA will be hosting their Fall "Avoiding Legal Malpractice" seminar virtually on October 29, 2020, 9 AM - 11 AM. The cost to attend is $50 and includes 2 hours of Ethics CLE credit. There are currently four vacancies on Pennsylvania Supreme Court Boards and Committees and they have been posted on the UJS website.

There are two vacancies on the Criminal Procedural Rules Committee.  Applicants should be knowledgeable about the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure and experienced in state criminal practice in Pennsylvania.‚Äč One of these vacancies must be filled by a magisterial district judge who is also an attorney. 

There is one vacancy on the Orphans’ Court Procedural Rules Committee. pplicants should be knowledgeable about the Pennsylvania Orphans’ Court Rules and experienced in Orphans’ Court practice in Pennsylvania. 

There is one vacancy on the Continuing Legal Education Board. Applicants must be active members of the Pennsylvania Bar with their primary residency in Pennsylvania. In addition, applicants should be knowledgeable about legal practice and procedures in Pennsylvania state or federal courts.

Applications are due by Oct. 31.
