POSTPONED - Trial Lawyers Section Presents: An Update to Rule 200 - What to Expect with the Recent Rule Changes

Topic: On March 30, 2020, Montgomery County Local Rule 200 will be amended. The timely, April 3rd CLE will give civil practioners a birds-eye view of the changes to the Tule and how it will affect civil practice in Montgomery County for years to come. Topics will include an overview of Rule 200 during its previous 4 years of existence, rationale for the changes including the meetings and actions of the Rule 200 Committee, and then a discussion of the specific nuances of the amendments. Of particular importance will be practice pointers regarding case management orders as well as timing of discovery and motion practice. Judge Saltz, who will be handling all motions for extraordinary relief, will provide insight into his procedures and recommended practice when filing and arguing motions for extraordinary relief. Deputy Court Administrator Denise Vicario will provide valuable information regarding listing cases for trial. Any attorney who handles civil cases in Montgomery County would be wise to attend the CLE.
