Topic: The American Bar Association recently adopted a resolution endorsing anti-bias training on appearance and grooming codes discrimination. In that vein, this CLE will address the nexus between workplace equity, diversity, and inclusivity and appearance bias and discrimination. Race-based natural hair bias and discrimination African descendants encounter in the workplace is the anchor of the discussion; therefore, attendees also learn about recent developments such as the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (C.R.O.W.N.) Act as well as other legal reforms aimed to combat race-based natural hair discrimination in workplaces.
